As the first call for data nears to a close, we want to thank all of you for your participation in the ASN Vendor Aggregator™ Solution. In just 8 months from our call for data launch, you are now part of the second largest trauma data initiative in the world, with over 600 participating hospitals. By the end of next year, we expect to be near or at the largest. This is a testament to the power of collaboration that exists amongst the trauma vendor community and you to help support ACS optimal care guidelines, improve outcomes, and save lives. Our nation’s zero preventable death initiative requires these types of innovations, and ASN and our many vendor partners have created these tools to answer that call.

The ASN staff would like to extend our sincere appreciation for your efforts in getting educated about this solution and working with us to complete agreements for your participation. We realize that this one-time, up-front administrative process has required great effort on your part and ours, and we truly appreciate your patience and support during this exciting time of foundational transition in our industry.

We have received a lot of positive and constructive feedback from our over 600 participating hospital user-base using the ASN Vendor Aggregator™ Solution. Our team is listening and continuing to make improvements based on your suggestions. This “first call for data” has been a time for learning as we have been monitoring, studying and analyzing feedback so we can continue to make improvements to better the experience for our users. We have achieved considerable success and are proud of the accomplishments we have made in such a short time frame including the following:

• Secured the participation of over 600 participating facilities
• Implementation of a sophisticated single-point converter translating ITDX formatted files into NTDB/TQIP® formatted files
• Implementation of a single-point vendor validator including the NTDB/TQIP® validation channels allowing for easy and near real-time updates when changes are published (there have been 7-8 updates already this year required by ACS and without a centralized solution, it would have been logistically infeasible for vendors to have provided potentially 15,000 updates nationwide)
• Implementation of the “Validation Driller®” providing additional validation reports and dashboards that can be used to evaluate data quality at either a file level or aggregate level
• Easy to use “Submission Builder” providing users control in building the final NTDB/TQIP® file that will be downloaded locally and manually submitted to the ACS Data Center

We are thrilled to announce some exciting enhancements that are coming this summer including the following:

• Integrated in-record concurrent validation functionality that will offer a direct connection to the ASN Vendor Aggregator™ data validation features
• Record deletion functionality to allow users to delete records from ASN Vendor Aggregator if they were submitted erroneously or determined to not meet criteria.
• New Reports added to Validation Driller
• Frequency Report
• Patient List Report
